# How can I avoid forcing a newborn’s knees too far apart in a front carry with a wrap?

Choose a position where the wrap passes **UNDER the thighs** and not BETWEEN the thighs, so you don’t force the knees too far apart. For example: Front Carry Double Hammock style, Off-Center Front Carry, or Seated Sideways. For a newborn before 3–4 months, the distance between their knees should be the same width as their pelvis. The **knees should be bent**. With a [baby carrier](https://love-radius.com/en/porte-bebes-physiologiques-love-radius-169), to avoid forcing this position, we recommend using **the booster** included in the [extension kit](https://love-radius.com/en/kits-0m-accessoires-pour-physiocarrier-1-et-hoodiecarrier-1-92).
