First attempts not conclusive?
We’re here to help you succeed.
It can absolutely happen that the first time(s) you carry your baby doesn’t go perfectly. It may be the timing (sleep, digestion, hunger, ...), the temperature, too many clothes, apprehension, being in a rush...
You’re not the first parent to face this. We hope we can help you move past this first experience, which is clearly far from what our baby wraps usually provide.
We understand that you have expectations and that it can be very frustrating not to get a satisfying result. Don’t hesitate to try again, choosing a moment that works for you and when your Baby is available. Explain to them what you’re going to do, explain that you’re learning too and that this is a first for you as well.
- The first time is usually quite an intense moment; we tend to feel hot because of apprehension and stress. Wear a t-shirt to start with, and open a window if needed.
- This video will help you tie your basic knot. It may seem complicated at first, but after a few tries, it’ll be as quick as tying your shoelaces.
- Then you can place your child in it when you feel ready. You can also try beforehand with a cushion whose 4 corners represent a baby’s 4 limbs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug4skrwhveY
- Rock baby while getting set up and during the first few minutes in the wrap. Don’t stay still; walk around the room a little while getting set up. The rocking will help your Baby and you too.
We recommend taking the time to try again 3 or 4 times in different conditions.
Don’t hesitate to get back to us if you have any doubts or questions, we’re here so that you feel comfortable with your Baby in a wrap and so that you too can enjoy the benefits of babywearing.
